All right, hands up, who is missing Jaroslav Halak?
Carey Price earned his third shutout of the season tonight, stopping 41 shots in a 3-0 Canadiens win over the Flyers. He was spectacular all night long, stopping Richards on a sure goal, Carter, Giroux and others. He earned his fourth first star in seventeen starts (along with five seconds and three thirds).
Two more power play goals by Cammalleri and Gionta sandwiched a second period goal by Plekanec.
We got the bad news that Markov will be out indefinitely with a knee injury and it seemed the team all manned up and gave an extra effort.
No one can complain that our wins are coming against weak opponents. In our last four games we have beaten the Canucks, Bruins, Hurricanes and Flyers all while giving up on three goals (two shutouts).
No doubt about it, this team is for real. They are playing like a team, getting solid goaltending and timely scoring. It was hard to find anyone who didn't contribute tonight.
Next up is Nashville on Thursday at the Bell Centre.
