Next up 51's return

For those of you who know me from Canadiens' boards around the net, there has been no player in the last 11 years of webboard posting that I hated more than 51, Francis Boullion.  I knew from the beginning, it was a travesty he wore the tricolore and saw him as the epitome of the mediocrity in which the franchise found itself from 1999-2007.

From his lying to management about his knee until he signed his contract, to his complaining that he didn`t want two way contracts, to his severe lack of size and shot and to management`s refusal to dump him (other than Therrien whose one good move as coach was cutting him in 2001) he brought good effort to the team, but little else.

Management`s inexplicable decision to keep him on the team ultimately cost us Stephane Robidas, Ron Hainsey and Francois Beauchemin.  They were either buried in the minors or traded while we kept uber small Boullion.

The happiest day in my hockey life occurred when the team announced in June 2009 it would not be offering 51 a new contract.

On Thursday he plays his first game back in Montreal.  I am sure he will try to prove his manhood by hitting a few of our guys but if we can handle those hits, sooner or later he will be unable to cover us in front of the net and we will score.

Ah it is good not seeing him on our defence and no coincidence we finally won more than one round in the playoffs AFTER we got rid of him.

He is not missed.
