Flyers seem to forget it's 2010 not 1975

Some things never change in Philadelphia.  FlyerFan has always preferred fights to goals and brawls to win.  They still think hockey hasn't changed since the days of Hammer Schultz, Battleship Kelly and Don Saleski.

Tonight was another perfect example.  We scored early in the third to go up 3-0 and pretty much end any hope the Flyers had of winning the game.  Most teams would simply accept their fate and play out the clock.  Not the Flyers.  Richards started to after Kostitsyn which required Subban to go to his defence.  Then Giroux did his best Jason Voorhees imitation on Subban.  Giroux also elbowed Lapierre in the face (Maxim should have just clocked that panty waist).  Then the big goon Sean O'Donnell got in the middle of it.

Last power play of the game for Flyers with under two minutes to go and one would have expected Laviolette to put out his best players to try and break the shutout.  Nope, Shelley and Powe etc were on the ice for one reason only, to goon it up.  Shelley ultimately took a penalty and the power play ended.

We play them against next Monday in the city of brotherly love and I am sure the goons will be out in full force.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.
