Canada's Team keeps on winning

We have our traditional back to back home games for the SB weekend and started off yesterday with a nice 2-0 win over the Rangers.  Gomez in the second and Plekanec into an empty net gave us the win.  We are now 3-0 against the Rangers this year so we are guaranteed to have the head to head tiebreaker against them.

We are in a good position this year and certainly not as tenuous as last year.  We are ten points ahead of last year's pace, firmly encsconced in sixth place in the East only two out of first in the Northeast and only four from second place (oddly enough we are seven out of fourth due to division placement.)

Price continues to provide stellar goaltending and while our penalty killing and power play have not been great lately, we are finding ways to win.  We have also limited the number of shootout wins so 28 of our 30 will count toward the wins tiebreaker.  Rangers on the other hand lose five victories from their win total.

Against the Bruins, right now they are two ahead of us and would have the wins tiebreaker but we have them three more times this year AND with one more win, would guarantee ourselves the head to head tiebreaker.

We can feel more secure this year that is for sure.
