Last Saturday the Heels opened Conference play with a hard fought 62-57 win over the Cavaliers. The Heels took an early lead but a 16-2 run by the Cavaliers put them ahead by 11 in the second half. The Heels fought back all afternoon and took the lead late. Clutch free throw shooting sealed the victory and moved the Heels to 11-4 on the season.
The team is still very young and a work in progress but there is improvement to say the least.
The Techs are next, Virginia Tech at home on Thursday and then at Georgia Tech on Sunday.
