Every year when the World Series starts (and it seems to get later every year), I am reminded of that scene in the classic 70s movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Jack Nicholson wants to watch the Series but his evil foil Nurse Ratchett is against it but lets the inmates on the pscyh ward take a vote. Jack ends up with a tied vote so Ratchett won't let him turn on the tv to watch the game.
Well Jack is mad but he starts making up a game and gets all the inmates excited and dancing around.
At one point, Jack is so excited he yells "somebody get me a weiner before I die".
Anyway, I likely will not watch all of the series as baseball is not a top priority for me anymore but since the San Francisco Giants are in it, I am sure I will watch some.
If you hear someone yell "get me a weiner before I die", you will know it's me.
Giants in 6
the game will start before 6PM your time, and you think that's late?
ReplyDeletei've always wanted to live on the west coast just for the better sport hours!
Except you try and get home to see the games on time. I have to PVR all my Canadiens' games and watch later as they usually start at 4:30, etc
ReplyDeleteI will follow on cbssports.com at the office and then radio on way home.
I'd rather miss the start of the game because I'm work or on my way home than miss the end because I was tired from working all day ;-)
ReplyDeletetrue, and with PVRs, it is easy to catch it all later, unless the bloody PVR screws up, grrrr
