7-2-1 after ten games

Confidence gained during our glorious playoff run last year has carried over into the new season.  The Canadiens are 7-2-1 after ten games.

Tonight the boys won 3-2 in Uniondale against a pesky Islander team.  Nassau Coliseum was full of Canadiens' fans who made the trip from La Belle Province to watch the team.  Few teams have fans that travel as well as CanadienFan does.

Playing a relatively solid defensive game despite a weaker than normal second period, we came away with a 3-1 win thanks to third period goals by Benoit Pouliot and Travis Moen.  Still no goals from Gomez and Gionta but they were on the ice for Moen's goal.  Plekanec chipped in with his third goal in three games.  Tomas certainly isn't letting his new contract go to his head, if anything, he is playing better this year.

Alex Auld was solid in nets after Coach Martin aka Count Chocula gave Price a night off after nine straight starts.

Playoffs aren't made in October and there is still a long way to go, but you can miss them in October if you get off to a bad start (see the Leafs last year).

We are off to an awesome start and I firmly believe the playoff experience last year is helping this year immensely.  When you are 7-2-1 despite having only five goals from Cammaleri, Gionta and Gomez who you know will pick it up, the future is so bright, I have to wear shades.
