A much needed win

The boys went into Carolina last night and won a much needed game against the Whalers in drag. 

Goals by Gomez, Kostitsyn and Picard gave us a 3-2 win.  I never bought the argument from negative nancies that it was a "must win" because if we lost what do we do, give up on the season?

It was not a classic and it turned on a five minute boarding penalty to Erik Cole when he tried to drive Spacek's head through the boards.  I never liked Cole especially the way he rubbed it in after a goal he scored on us in the 2002 playoffs and then in a real weenie fashion, he apologized for it but I digress.

Hamrlik looked very tired and was the cause of both goals against but we manned up in the third and held on for the win.
