that no women were exploited during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show tonight. I made sure I watched every second of the event to ensure Adriana, Allessandra, Chanel, Behati etc were not exploited and they weren't. Their hair was perfect, their teeth white and the angel wings they wore fit perfectly. They did their half of the species proud and I am sure women all around the world are rushing out to buy those outfits as I type. Katy Perry looked like she could easily have donned a pair of wings and fit right in. Akon didn't seem to mind that he was merely a prop as the girls walked by.
Now, I must say though I was totally disgusted by the sheer exploitation of men during the show. During the Game On segment, they had about 12 men without shirts on, flexing away as they did some bastardized pommel horse routine. I must say I couldn't watch them out of protest for the way they were portrayed merely as athletic sex objects with perfectly shaved chests and 12 pack abs. Not sure what the producers were trying to prove but it was disgusting.
I told Contessa and she said I should write to complain if I felt inadequate. Again, if I were smart enough I might be insulted by that comment.
I saved the show on my PVR in order to watch it again and make sure the exploitation of men during the show was as disgusting as it was on first blush.
