So after another loss to the Canadiens, instead of manning up and saying, ok, they have now beaten us seven of eight and must be a better team, what did the Bruins do? Well Tim Thomas complained about the penalty shot call that gave us an early lead. Timbo said Mike didn't miss out on a scoring chance, he lost it himself (yeah right you overrated choker, it had nothing to do with Lurch slashing him).
Then Krejci said that our team is nothing but dirty little players who elbow, slash and yap so he had had enough of it and decided to fight Cammalleri. Um David, remember to use Canesten for your yeast infection, the ads on tv say it works wonderfully.
Come on people, there are a number of ironies in life, like stealing from a thief (as Zorro did), the Nazis calling the British air pirates for bombing Berlin after London was devastated, etc but the biggest one of all is a Bruin player calling other teams dirty. Hello, a Bruin, really? A team/franchise that has had players like Lyndon Byers, Jay Miller, Shawn Thornton, Milan Lucic, Cam Neely (the great power forward who charged on every hit he ever levelled), Stan Jonathan,,,, need I go on?
If it it weren't so pitiful, it would be funny. You were beaten, live with it.
Saddest part of all though is how douchebaggy (is that a word), Mark Recchi has become. When he was a Hab, he was my favourite player, I had his name on my jersey and truly was sad to see him traded away for flotsam and jetsam in 1999. However, his actions last night, yapping away, making hand gestures etc to Subban and Lapierre were beneath him. I guess playing in Boston for Dauterive has changed him. It is sad.
As for the game itself, we never trailed, goals by Cammalleri on the power play, Lapierre, Pacioretty and Gionta gave us the win. It was a much needed win before our annual Christmas/New Year road trip.
Before Christmas, we play in Colorado, Dallas and Carolina, three different time zones with a lot of travel involved. The high air in Colorado is always tough.
Next up, Colorado on Sunday. No Saturday night hockey this weekend.
