Next up, Edmonton

On Wednesday we play the forgotten team in Canada, that one that hasn't been good in about 20 years, the team that had one miraculous run to the Finals and almost won it all but who is constantly in rebuilding mode.  Yes folks, we take on the Oilers.  At one time, the best team in hockey but then they started jettisoning all their players the second they wanted to earn a real salary.

They still play in a crappy arena in a city now better known for a shopping mall than its hockey team.

In the past, their management bemoaned the fact it couldn't compete financially with real franchises and wanted a salary cap.  Now they have a cap and still complain they cannot compete all while trying to screw other teams by signing RFAs to offer sheets which ultimately just drives up salaries (which is then bemoaned by the Oilers).

They used to whine about revenue sharing and took welfare from the NHL for currency inequality, used that money (which included money from the Canadiens and Leafs) to beat us and then their fans laughed at us.

So let's hope we hammer those parasites but good on Wednesday.  They deserve it.
