After a hard fought game yesterday at home, Count Jr's team made the trek to north Burnaby to take on another Burnaby team. It was close for two periods with Burnaby leading 3-2 but they exploded for six goals and won going away 9-2.
Burnaby had 14 players so they played three lines and two defence pairs. Our boys started with eleven players so we had two units of five until our twelfth player arrived to start the third period. Our boys were tired by the third and no longer could keep up.
Nolan scored on a great end to end rush and Liam added our second with a shot from the left boards. Count Jr suffered from a quick whistle after a breakaway, he scored but the ref had prematurely blown the whistle. He also tried a great wrap around but was unfortunately blocked by a teammate.
Funniest Count Jr moment today was right in front of us when he was fighting three Burnaby boys along the boards for a puck. As he was defending New Westminster's honour, he let out a loud rebel yell and came out with the puck. He also made a few solid defensive plays including taking the puck behind his net and stopping to survey where to send the puck.
Next week, we get Richmond C3 at home.
