Count Jr's team comes up just a little short today

Count Jr's team lost a hard fought game 4-3 today before a full house at Queen's Park Arena (ok, just full of parents but you get the point).

After falling behind to Burnaby C2 2-0, they fought back to tie it at 2-2 and 3-3 only to see Burnaby score a late goal to take the game.

Great goaltending today by Nolan and amazing goals by Tysen, Dominik and Matthew made New Westminster C1 proud.

Count Jr didn't score today but he made a couple of defensive plays and was tenacious on the boards on two occasions where he simply would not let the opponent get the puck from him.  I guess my working with him on board play at Hotshots on Monday has paid off.

Count Jr was doing his best Battle of the Blades imitations before faceoffs and showing off his edges and spins.  He mostly did that during a rendition of California Love before a faceoff (thanks to manager Jodie for playing decent music today ;).  I wonder what Coach Glenn at PEHS would say if he knew one of his students was pirouhetting between plays.

Tomorrow a road game against Burnaby C3.
