I remember the days as a child when hockey went from late August to early May, you had one week of hockey camp in August and that was it.
Today's minor hockey is not your father's minor hockey.
Since Count Jr's regular team's season ended at the end of March, he has played a spring 3 on 3 season of 14 games (he was able to play in 13), gone to adult and child stick and puck about 5 times with me, had a 10 session stickhandling camp and played a father-son game against dads from his 3 on 3 team.
He starts his first hockey camp of the summer July 18 in Montreal (the Montreal Canadiens hockey school) and then after being back for a couple of weeks, he is off to Richmond for a second hockey camp.
Of course after seeing the NHL contracts even 4th liners were getting on free agent day last Friday, all this coin and time I am putting into his hockey might pay off in the long run ;)
Now I just have to convince him to play for a private club :D
