Same old Bruins, Same old Habs

The faces might change, the rinks change but for some reason, we have the Bruins' number come playoff time.  Tonight we took game 1 of the EQF 2-0 in Boston with Gionta getting two goals, Gomez two assists and Price stopping all 31 shots he faced.

Granted the Bruins knocked us out in 2009 and it is but one game, but other than the freak period between 88-94 when we lost to them five times out of six, we so own their ass in the playoffs it is pitifulo.

The Canadiens have taken 24 of 32 playoff series against the Bruins historically including years when we allegedly had no chance like 71, 84, 02 and 04.  There is something about playing us that gets the Bruins all nervious.  It is almost like they are down 2-0 in games before the first puck drop.

Tonight despite being outshot, we played the perfect road game.  An early turnover by former Leaf Tomas Kaberle led to a 1-0 lead which held up until with less than four minutes to go, Gionta scored again.

Price was by far our best player and ended a personal eight game playoff losing streak and exorcised some TD Gardens demons after having given up 13 goals in his last two starts in Boston.

Game 2 is Saturday.
