After an awesome second half that saw them win the ACC regular season, finish second in the ACC tournament, they made a run to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament before falling to a Kentucky hail of 3 point shots. The Wildcats hit 12 of 22 three point shots and hit a 3 everytime they needed one.
The Heels fought hard throughout the game, tieing at 67 but could not finish.
All in all, after last year's season where they didn't make the NCAA but did have a great run in the NIT, lost the Wears, Ed Davis to transfers and NBA, then had Bullock get injured, Drew II transfer and Will Graves be dismissed, to make the Elite 8 with only eight scholarship players at the end, is pretty good.
They should be a force next year with McAdoo and Hairston coming in (assuming Barnes, Zeller and Henson stay).
